Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Associate Professor in Practice Psychology

I AM NOT ABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW WORK AT THE MOMENT. HOPEFULLY THIS SHOULD CHANGE IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

I have been practising as a  chartered Clinical Psychologist for over 25 years. For the past 20 years or so, I have also been working part time at Middlesex University  where I  am now an Associate Professor. Here I teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in aspects of clinical psychology, counselling, therapy, mental health and emotional well being. In this role I also carry out research and publish articles in peer reviewed and popular journals.

Therapeutically I work in conjunction with people to help them to understand and cope with a range of experiences related to: anxiety, depression, relationships, transitions and other life stresses. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrate this with other approaches, usually drawing on aspects of the unconscious, relationships, families. culture and wider social contexts. I am trained in family therapy and  hold a  higher education teaching qualification (PGCHE). I enjoy teaching, training, clinical supervision and organisational consultancy around matters of mental health and well being.

I am registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC) and with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
